To use the MONyog mail alert functionality to mail you alerts about a MySQL server you will first need to select that feature when registering a server. The 'Notification Settings' page allows you to choose whether you want to receive e-mail updates or SNMP traps or both, from MONyog. You can choose to receive e-mails or SNMP traps only when an alert condition arises or you can ask MONyog to send you an update of each data collection event. You will need to enter,
The address to which MONyog is to send e-mails. Clicking on 'Settings' will take you to the MONyog Preferences page where you can set the sender information. Please refer SMTP settings for more information.
Enable traps by clicking on 'Settings' which will take you to the MONyog Preferences page where you can set the destination and the port on which your SNMp manager is listening. Please refer SNMP settings for more information.
Details about the SMTP server to use. MONyog does not have a SMTP server of its own. It will need to connect to a SMTP server on the Internet, your local network or your local computer. The settings are same as you would enter when installing or configuring a mail client program like Outlook or Outlook Express.
Notify when server restarts: If you enable this option, it will send alert if server restarts between two data retrievals. With managed hosting the MySQL server may be restarted automatically as part of routine maintenance or after a server crash. Knowing when this has occurred can be useful.
Notify when stable: If a monitor goes into alert-able state and then becomes stable, a stable e-mail or an SNMP trap is sent by MONyog.
Notify when server configuration changes: If you enable this option, MONyog will send an alert when ever there is a change in MySQL configuration. These alerts in the form of emails or(and) SNMP traps are sent when ever MONyog detects a change in server variables using SET GLOBAL statements or in the MySQL configuration file.
Send notification when alert-able: Here, you can specify the number of times a counter should be in an alert-able state, consecutively, before a notification is sent.
