Since MONyog itself can run on Windows as well as Linux platforms and suitable Internet browsers which are available practically on every platform both of the following scenarios are possible:
MONyog web-server running on Windows - Monitoring MySQL on all platforms and also monitoring OS-data on Windows and Linux servers. To retrieve OS information MONyog uses SSH for Linux.
MONyog web-server running on Linux - Monitoring MySQL on all platforms and also monitoring OS-data on Linux servers. To retrieve OS metrics MONyog uses SSH for Linux. However with this scenario (MONyog installed on a Linux machine) MONyog web-server/agent cannot collect Windows OS metrics. However, we do not think it is a problem in real world!
Of course, the client where the MONyog output is being viewed can be any browser supporting AJAX on any platform.
MONyog can be installed on a remote PC as well as the server. It does not require processing, with agent-less monitoring it can collect and retrieve data from the server.
